Our Ethos

What we build at sea, is what we build at home.

The Imagine Group exists because the technology in most luxury homes is built to a different standard than the technology in luxury yachts. The same wire, the same processor, installed by hands trained in a classroom looks one way. Installed by hands trained on a 500-ton superyacht where failure is a safety incident looks another.

We bring the second standard to homes, yachts, and commercial spaces across Northern Indiana, Southern Michigan, and South Florida. Same hands. Same rigor. Same obsession with what happens behind the wall.

The Founders

The captain. The builder. The heart.

Three people. One standard. The team behind every project we deliver.

Ty Glennie, founder and lead Crestron programmer

01 · Founder

Ty Glennie

Captain. Engineer. Founder.

Ty spent more than a decade at sea before he ever wired a home. A USCG 500-Ton Unlimited Master with sea time logged toward 3,000 tons, he came up through the superyacht industry the long way — crew, officer, master — supporting advanced communications, satellite networks, and custom AV across global itineraries. The standard he learned at sea, where a single failed system in the middle of the ocean is unacceptable, became the standard he refused to lower when he came ashore.

Since 2014, Ty has specialized in Crestron integration. He’s one of roughly 4,000 Crestron Certified Programmers in the world — a credential he earned recently and won’t bring up on his own. Underneath the AV work sits a deeper foundation: he’s been a certified COBOL and Sun Microsystems Java programmer since 2000, which gives him a systems-engineering mindset most home automation installers don’t have.

What clients describe more often than the credentials is the way he shows up. He’s the kind of person who leaves his dinner table to walk a yacht’s crew through a flooded system halfway across the ocean. The kind of person who answers at two in the morning and is fully present by the second ring. He keeps the kind of confidence around his clients’ homes that those clients hired him for in the first place.

Outside of work, Ty enjoys kiteboarding, riding dirt bikes, and spending time with his wife, Kelly, and their five children.

02 · Partner & CEO

Silas Chapman

Partner. Builder. The one who keeps it moving.

Silas has spent twenty-two years in civil and commercial construction, and he’s still the person other people call when a project is bigger than the people running it. Civil engineering, civil design, operations — hundreds of builds across municipal water systems, commercial sites, and industrial projects. The kind of complicated logistics that make most general contractors quietly outsource their schedules.

The thing he does better than almost anyone is keep a project moving. Twelve-month forward schedules, weather contingencies, trade coordination, deliveries, change orders, and the daily reality that one slipped subcontractor cascades into six weeks of consequences. He’s, in his own words, the calm one. Across two decades of builds, he hasn’t missed a deadline.

He’s also the person you want in a crisis. When a job goes sideways at midnight, when a system fails, when a problem lands that nobody else knows how to solve — Silas is already two phone calls ahead, lining up the people and parts to fix it before sunrise. He doesn’t consider it heroic. It’s a Tuesday.

What he brings to Imagine is something residential AV companies almost never have access to: commercial-grade discipline. The custom-home world runs on improvisation. Silas brings the commercial-GC mindset — tight punch lists, hard schedules, value engineering, real safety standards — into a category that has spent a long time getting away with less.

Off the jobsite, Silas kite surfs, foils, rides motorcycles, plays guitar, and shows up for beach volleyball league every summer when the schedule lets him. Ask him what he’s most proud of that has nothing to do with work and he’ll answer without hesitation: his daughter.

“The difference between a good project and a bad one is usually the details nobody sees.”

Kelly Glennie, founder of client experience

03 · Founder · Client Experience & Design Coordination

Kelly Glennie

The heart of the Imagine experience.

Kelly is the heart of the Imagine experience. She’s the one making sure plans come together, orders are right, and that every client feels looked after from the very first conversation. If something is moving smoothly behind the scenes, there’s a very good chance Kelly is the reason.

She grew up as the oldest of ten, which is probably where her gift for keeping things organized — and her ability to stay calm in a full house — first took root. Most of her career has been in healthcare, where she worked for years as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. It’s a field built on patience, precision, and noticing what most people miss. All of which she now brings to the way she cares for Imagine clients.

On any given project, Kelly is the bridge between the client, the dealers, and the design. She loves helping people land on the choices that feel right for the way they actually live, not just what looks good on paper.

“Home has always been a haven for me. A quiet morning alone, a loud night with the kids and their friends, a simple dinner with people I love. I want a space that holds all of that.”

— Kelly Glennie

That’s the kind of home she wants to help create for other people. Not a showroom. A sanctuary. A place that knows how to be still in the morning and alive at night, and can shift between the two without anyone thinking about it.

Away from work, you can usually find her near the water, out on a run, tending to her (lovingly tolerated by Ty) collection of plants, or at a long dinner with family.

Privacy by Design

Your home. Your data. Your rules.

Most smart homes were built for someone else's business model. Ours weren't.

We design systems that process locally. Voice control that doesn't send recordings to a server farm. Cameras that don't sell footage to a third party. Networks that stay yours, by architecture, not by promise.

01

Local Processing

Josh.AI voice. Crestron logic. DMF lighting. All on your network, not someone else's cloud.

02

No Data Harvesting

We don't sell your information. Neither do our systems. Your habits and patterns are yours.

03

Transparent Architecture

Every device, every connection, every signal path is documented and visible.
